We hosted the sixth annual TYG Musicale last weekend and had a great turn-out with lots of thanks to all the many people who participated and attended. We all got there early to set up, and we brought the other piano into the back room so that we could try a six-person chopsticks. Here, Tori and I are killing time trying to syncopate Whitewater Chopsticks. Unfortunately, it didn't work out due to the fact that Tori and I play it slightly differently. It was fun to mess around with though. Only the TYG was included in the supper invite, since otherwise it would have been too many people; but we don't have any pictures of the meal.
Dad was the emcee and welcomed everyone.
The first number was Dale, Ben, and Jake playing Keep On The Sunny Side.
After that, Dale sang I Want To Stroll Over Heaven With You with Ben as back-up on the bass. Nice.
Emily played I Surrender All.
For Those Tears I Died by the Koch cousins.
Sam and Adam played Trust and Obey which sounded cool.
Micah played a song called The Pied Piper, I think. I'm not real for sure on that one.
Lauren did a nice job on a song called Waterfall.
Matthew played the Blackhawk Waltz, and did okay until he completely blanked out. He still did a good job though, and we're glad he participated.
I ended up playing We Have This Moment with Jake, which I hadn't actually been planning on, but we did it anyway.
Cleo played a solo which we all enjoyed.
Due to the fact Josh didn't have a piano piece for us, Dad called him up on the hoverboard, where he did a few of his tricks. Everyone thought it was pretty funny/cute.
Next, all the YG choir members sung Majesty, which sounded really nice.
Sarah played Variations on Canon in D.
All the girls sang Unbounded Grace.
Jesse and Aden did a mix of several variations of Amazing Grace, and everyone joined in for the last part that we all knew.
Jesse, Jolene, and Javan did a fun little song about a rooster, but I don't remember the name of it.
Next, Charity and Prom did a really cool duet version of All Of Me. Charity sort of wrote the music for it, since there's not duet music for it. It was really cool, especially since they switched places and crossed their hands over and stuff. They did a great job on it.
This girls' group sang All The Way My Saviour Leads Me.
Mike sang The Little Boy in the Carpenter Shop.
Jake, Tori, Katie, Ben, and Sarah did a song together: He Gave More Than Love.
The next group are all in Madrigals together, and so they did a Madrigals song called That Lonesome Road.
I don't remember these three doing a song together, but I guess they did, but I don't remember what one they did. It was an instrumental featuring the banjo.
Janelle did a piano solo.

Yes, there are nine guitars and one harpsichord in this picture. It was kind of impromptu, but it sounded super cool. It is probably one of the few times I'll ever hear nine guitars played at once.
U. Mike and A. Joyce sang a song called The Old Man Is Dead. It was written by a former inmate of Logan Correctional Center that they know.
In closing, the entire TYG sung three songs: Down On My Knees, Our God is Alive, and When All Of God's Singers Get Home. Then a few people shared some thoughts, we had a snack, and people stayed around and talked until late that night.
Some people also stayed around to jam in the back room with guitars,
and after they were done we tried six person chopsticks (even though there are only five people in this picture)(Mom was the sixth and she took the picture). It sounded interesting, to say the least.
