March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Sweet Corn Day

by Jewel

A couple Wednesdays ago Leann and her kids came over to help us do sweetcorn. It was actually a lot of fun. Sarah was babysitting Kruz as well, so she didn't help quite so much, but we still got done pretty quick.

Awww. So cute.

Even though we don't have pictures, Mack the puppy got plenty of attention and he enjoyed lunch as much as we did.

We went to DQ after church with them too. It was pretty fun to see each other again so soon.

A couple weeks ago the rope swing was having some wear and tear problems, so Jake and Ben set up a big ladder on top of the van to fix it.

Pretty reflection.

Pretty sunset.

That Tuesday we had another Kaiser Lake Day. It was a small but fun crowd.

That night we went to a pool party at the Morton pool. Josh is jumping off the high dive (in the center of the picture).

And Oliver went to his new home so we had just one puppy left!

Cooler Days

by Jewel

On Monday Oliver and Mack were being so cute. They are seriously two of the cutest puppies ever! They love people and are so excited to play with us when we go out to them.

Some of the other kids threw a baseball around while I rode Diamond for a while. Jesse and Lucy came over as well.

I don't know when this happened. It looks like Josh got a rude awakening.

On Tuesday Katie had three Baers until about 2:00. Mom and I picked up Gloria and went to Restmor singing, and then Gloria came back to our house with us, but we still played with the Baers some. We considered the lake but never ended up going. Kids were happy here.

They're so cute!

We kids' latest project in the barn is tearing down all this chicken wire off of the wall in front of the mangers. It took us a while, but as of now we're almost done.

They think they're such rebels when they take stuff. They each grabbed one of Mom's socks and ran off and were so pleased with themselves.

They don't like being in their pen at all.

Brandi is maybe a little jealous of all the lap time her puppies get. She thinks she needs lap time too.

What?! Tim Kaiser holding a dog on his lap?

We had these three cuties again last Wednesday.

Clay actually managed to hit some of the balls. He even hit one all the way to Brandi (I won't say how close Brandi was to him).

And then down at the lake Cason impressed us all with his balance. A talented bunch of kids.

Karol brought Moise to swim for a little while.

Thursday night some visitors from Connecticut had supper at our house, and then we all walked down to the lake.

Friday we had Clara Lynn who is so cute (and got called Ella Grace a fair amount of the time).

That night we had some of Heather's co-workers and friends over for a farewell potluck.

On Saturday we had the two cutest kids ever since Levi and Echo were gone on an overnight getaway. We had them on Saturday till late afternoon when Levi and Echo got back. We were only down at the lake for an hour or so, because then Flint needed a nap, but they loved it while we were down there.

After his nap Flint was being SO happy and cute.

Since Oliver was picked up that afternoon by his new owners and Mack was lonely, he got to watch (sleep through) a movie with us kids.

Sunday everyone came over, so toys were pulled out and played with.

So was Mack.

The End.
