March 2024

March 2024
Over the years, we've always compared our family life to a wagon train heading west. Just as everyone had to do his part to get to Oregon years ago, so everyone in our family must do his/her part to make our journey through life successful. If somebody climbs in the wagon and lets the others do the work, we just don't make any progress. We all have to pull our weight and work together. Along the trail we find lots of pebbles that make for a smooth ride and some bigger rocks that jar us a little; we hit the occasional pothole that can slow us down. But if we purpose to search diligently, there are countless gold nuggets and precious gemstones along the way as well. This journal is an attempt to preserve some of those precious moments for our children, and our children's children, as together we travel this trail called life.

Thou wilt shew me the path of life: in thy presence is fulness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore. Psalm 16:11

Farewell 2017

Wednesday brought two sweet Sauder boys here again. Cason got such a kick out of stepping on Josh!

Thursday was a great day to break in the 2017 ice rink. Glad that Gloria, Samuel, and Kinsey could come too.

Thursday night some special visitors brought us some VERY SPECIAL news!! :) :) :)

Friday we had a houseful of favorite littles while their parents had a butchering day.

Wyatt was such a big help!

Bristol took care of eating the slices that were too small for the trays.

Henry helped Josh empty the dishwasher.

These two took great  naps and woke up full of snuggles.

John Deere EarthMover Action kept the whole crew mesmerized for awhile.

By Saturday the lake was solid enough to clear with the four-wheeler - - -

and the ice was amazingly smooth as glass. We got a kick out of Brandi pulling the kids around.

And then Saturday night - - -
Oh my were the kids mystified when I set a place at the table for a special guest. Great excitement and rejoicing when A. Joyce brought this very special guest - - - our good friend, her fiancé Mike!

Well so Saturday night I forgot to get a picture of the engaged couple, but I got this really nice picture of them Sunday night at supper.

Congratulations Mike & A. Joyce!

Steiner Christmas

Tuesday was Steiner Christmas, hosted by U. Jeff's at A. Sarah's. A wonderful day with lots of laughs and memories.

Christmas Day

Laura came to ride with Kate after a blessed Christmas Day service at church.

I only took a few px of our Christmas. Was a wonderful day though.

I was happy to find this adorable little doll that played Jesus Loves Me. Kiowa was a little scared of it though!

Weekend

Friday night we had fun sharing px with Levi & Echo and looking at their px from MI. I think by 8:30 or so the house was quiet!
Saturday morning we woke up to this - - -

Was good to be in church Sunday and then have Christmas with Grandpa and Grandma on Christmas Eve.

Meanwhile - - -

 - - - we missed Levi & Echo & Kiowa, who were skiing in Michigan's UP! We were glad they could go on the trip with Echo's family but wished they could go with us too. Sounds like they had a good time too!
